The winery, which the Bär family took over from Friedrich Bastian in 2021, looks back on a long tradition. It is proven that wine has been cultivated in Bacharach for 300 years.
After taking over the winery as the Bär family in 2021, we were able to round off the winery from 4 ha to 20 ha by expanding the vineyards, over 90% of which is planted with Riesling.
The emphasis on bright, light-filled rooms and faithful maintenance were the focus of the restoration of this exceptional location.
Our slate soils serve as both heat storage and mineral sources. They thus ensure a balanced heat balance and shape the mineral character of our Rieslings.

When the Bär family took over the winery, they began to renovate the current estate buildings. The winery borders directly on the town wall of Bacharach with a magnificent view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Werner Chapel and Stahleck Castle.
